NEXAVAR may cause birth defects or death of an unborn baby. Avoid becoming pregnant while taking NEXAVAR and for at least 2 weeks after stopping your treatment. Men and women should use birth control during and at least 2 weeks after NEXAVAR therapy. Call your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Hypertension Can Occur During Treatment with Nexavar

Hypertension (high blood pressure) can occur during treatment with Nexavar.

  • May develop especially during the first 6 weeks of therapy
  • May be treated with medication prescribed by your doctor
  • May require that treatment be stopped if high blood pressure is severe or persistent

Your blood pressure should be checked every week during the first 6 weeks of starting Nexavar and regularly thereafter. Any high blood pressure should be treated while you are receiving Nexavar.

Remember, it is important to tell your doctor or health care team as soon as you notice any side effects or a change in health.
